Collect emails from Instagram and Facebook comments

Grow an email list from comments: Replier asks for an email in the DM, saves it to Contacts, then sends your saved message and link.

Add an email step to your comment automation. Someone comments your keyword, Replier replies with an opening message and button; after they tap it and, on Instagram, follow you, Replier asks for their email, saves a format-checked address to Contacts, then sends your saved message with the link.

Why the opening button matters

Meta lets Replier send one private reply per comment, and the conversation only continues once the person replies. The opening message is that single reply: it carries a button, and the tap is the reply that opens Meta's 24-hour messaging window. Inside that window Replier can run the Instagram follow check, ask for the email, and send your saved message. Without the opening tap there is no window for the follow or email steps, so the opening message is what makes email capture possible.

Set it up in three steps

Create your automation

Pick an Instagram or Facebook post and a keyword, then write the saved message and link you want to send.

Turn on the opening message and Ask for email

In the message editor, turn on Opening message and name its button, then turn on Ask for email and write the email request and a retry message for an invalid address.

Preview, turn on, and test

Check the Preview, select Turn on automation, then comment from another account and reply with an email to test it.

The exact step order

Replier runs the steps in this order: opening message, Instagram follow check, email collection, then your saved message or message flow. Disabled steps are skipped, and Facebook skips only the follow check. Public comment replies are separate and do not wait for these steps.

What happens to the email

Replier checks the address format only. It does not verify mailbox ownership, send a verification email, or email your saved content. Invalid input shows your retry message; a valid address lets the automation continue. The address appears in Contacts, where the column reads Email (unverified), and a CSV export (filtered by search and source) labels the column Email (format checked, unverified).

Message limits

Each opening or email message can contain up to 640 characters, and an Instagram email message without buttons must also fit within 1,000 UTF-8 bytes, so some languages reach the limit sooner. The opening button label can contain up to 20 characters.

Tips

  • Say exactly what they will get before you ask for the email.
  • Tell people how you will use their email, and only ask when the content is worth it.
  • Keep the opening button short and clear, like Send it or Get the guide.
  • Write a friendly retry message so a typo does not lose the lead.

FAQ

Add an email step to your comment automation: turn on the opening message and Ask for email. After the commenter taps the opening button (and, on Instagram, follows you), Replier asks for their email, saves a format-checked address to Contacts, then sends your saved message and link.
